We live as long as we fly

Hehe

Yesterday I, as usual on Tuesdays, arrived in Riga on the morning express. I awfully like saying "arrived on the express" - probably it's from childhood, where I didn't get my fill of riding trains, although I've always loved doing it. I also like arriving in Riga - a cool feeling. Just a few years ago the Capital seemed like something big and scary. Unclear where to go, what to do, and in general  people are all businesslike and there are a lot of them. But now you don't even have to think - your feet carry you in the right direction on their own, your hands buy transit tickets, and your brain isn't involved in the process. All that's left is a pleasant feeling of surprise - 3 hours ago you were in small and quiet Daugavpils, and now you're admiring the Vanšu Bridge, the Daugava and the panorama of old Riga. What's more, you feel like it's all completely yours, close and familiar.
Anyway, I digress. Once again, sticking to tradition, I swung by my coursemates' dorm. They even get worried if I show up half an hour late - they've gotten so used to my regular visits.  We chatted about this and that, without touching however upon the topic of the upcoming test.
And that's why I arrived at the test as light as an angel - simply knowing absolutely nothing. As they say,  "Zilch". What cheat sheets, what are you talking about? I've been too lazy to make them for a year now. And this time the laziness reached its apogee and became extreme sloth (or slothfulness?) - I couldn't even be bothered to print out the lecture slides that were actually available. Right before the test itself, Valerych the terminator-robot came up to me and blinked his little lights: "Insufficient resources to execute operation". I allocated him some resources in the form of Lats (not knight's armor, but the national currency), so that he could carry out his master plan - print the slides for himself and me. And just like that, fate itself handed me a way to somehow survive the test. Somehow, because there were few slides, but many questions, and all of them were off-topic.
In the process of cheating, the prof inquired:"And what is it you're examining so intensely down there on your chair?". I calmly smiled and said "Zilch". Then I started folding the shapeless pile of paper together, in order to shove the incriminating evidence as far away as possible. However, the prof didn't leave it at that, she wasn't too lazy to get up and come over to admire my supplementary materials. Luckily, I had already managed to roll the printouts into a tight little ball and shove them into my pocket.
Then I indifferently announced: "There was nothing here."
